- Pastor Tim, my question is please explain, Genesis 6:4. There’s a big discussion at work. Some are saying that this proves that there are aliens. Also, if there is life on other planets wouldn’t Jesus have to die over and over again? Does Ezekiel chapter 1 talk about UFOs? What do you think of all the sudden UFO sightings? They are asking me this at work and I don’t know how to answer. If there is life on other planets does that disprove Christianity?
It may seem I’m going all over the world here but bear with me. Matthew 24:4,5
Jesus told them, “Don’t let anyone mislead you, 5 for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah.’ They will deceive many.
This is the first thing Jesus said to look for as the time of the end is drawing near.
For the answer to the Genesis 6:4 (5-7) question there are three answers given, two by theologians and one by new age promoters (you will understand why I give their response in a moment)
In those days, and for some time after, giant Nephilites lived on the earth, for whenever the sons of God had intercourse with women, they gave birth to children who became the heroes and famous warriors of ancient times.
5 The LORD observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil. 6 So the LORD was sorry he had ever made them and put them on the earth. It broke his heart.
(everything God had made man corrupted and made it evil and it broke his heart)
- Angels, demons (sons of God) procreated with women and created monstrous humans. This conflicts with Jesus’ words in Matthew 22:30..
“For when the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage. In this respect they will be like the angels in heaven.”
Angels do not have the ability to create, nor reproduce.. Angels do not die as these did in the flood, if they were supernatural beings, they could have survived.
- Great men – considered (sons of God) through genetic pollution, mutation and demonic influence these kings, men of renown, fulfilled their baser instincts. They grew larger than other men and were considered sons of God and they may have been demonized or simply fully given over to the flesh. Other demonized people may have been able to have great strength as we see the demoniacs that Jesus set free…. We see Nephilim later in scripture so it is most likely a genetic mutation…..this is the explanation that I believe makes more Biblical sense and is more soundly defended
- New age explanation – Aliens came and had sex with women of earth creating this race of people
Much of the UFO lore that is out there and the messages from Ashtar, the Pleiades people, the people of light, reptilians, grey men, and the other aliens that have contacted people on earth of spoken of how they are the creators of human kind, how Jesus, Buddha, Mohammed, are all enlightened half human, half alien beings that came to earth to lead us into truth and that all of them have spoken the truth (problem is the truth Jesus gave is in direct opposition to all the other truth)
Basically, these beings traveled light years to tell us new age philosophy which is directly opposition to the Gospel…These beings mainly communicate to us through mediums, channelers, and astra-projectionist all new age, demonic, sources
They also speak of a time when millions will be taken from the earth perhaps even billions and to not fear but to rejoice because the alien spaceship have come to take them because their job on earth is done (sound familiar). These aliens talk about how mother earth is alive, a sentient being and the disasters that are happening are all happening because she needs to blow off steam.
These aliens either look like Norse people, or they are little grey creatures and they travel millions or billions of miles, they are from much more advanced societies and some times they abduct people and probe them and do other examinations for the purpose of breeding a race of hybrids…..I thought they were our creators already, so why do they need to probe people…why do they travel light years to tell us new age philosophy if they truly are superior being show us how to bring world peace, solve hunger, cure cancer, end racism no they are concerned about promoting New Age anti-God philosophy
the majority of these stories have either been proven as hoax or the people were proven unstable, however there are some that defy normal explanation but research has found that many who have said they were had been molested, were molested as children ….
The ships defy what we know of physics so if they are real, they are other dimensional just as angels appear and disappear, Jesus did the same and walked through walls.
Einstein’s theory of relativity helps to explain multiple dimensions. What better way for Satan to deceive many than to have all of this preparation done so when disaster strikes on the earth, it is not God’s wrath it is merely mother earth releasing tension, don’t worry it is all good, when millions disappear in the rapture don’t worry their work is done or they were the ones blocking mother earth’s freedom and had to be removed the children are gone because they are being placed elsewhere…everything is one and it is all working together now that we got rid of those who were the hindrance…setting up very well for the rise of the anti-Christ
It took a great miracle and the hand of God to create life on this planet…the possibility of life being on another planet unless God made it happen is 0…if you step away from the science fiction for a moment and look at the science I believe you will agree….however if you don’t believe in God you would be desperate to hope that it is possible believing that life could happen without the need of God.
I know answering a question like this can at times create a certain doubt in some to see what is real so let’s take a look at something from Luke’s Gospel.
Luke was a physician his Gospel is written in the highest form of Greek and most likely used as a defense paper for Paul’s defense in Rome.
Road to Emmaus Luke 24: 13-24
That same day two of Jesus’ followers were walking to the village of Emmaus, seven miles from Jerusalem. 14 As they walked along they were talking about everything that had happened. 15 As they talked and discussed these things, Jesus himself suddenly came and began walking with them. 16 But God kept them from recognizing him.
17 He asked them, “What are you discussing so intently as you walk along?”
They stopped short, sadness written across their faces. 18 Then one of them, Cleopas, replied, “You must be the only person in Jerusalem who hasn’t heard about all the things that have happened there the last few days.”
19 “What things?” Jesus asked.
“The things that happened to Jesus, the man from Nazareth,” they said. “He was a prophet who did powerful miracles, and he was a mighty teacher in the eyes of God and all the people. 20 But our leading priests and other religious leaders handed him over to be condemned to death, and they crucified him. 21 We had hoped he was the Messiah who had come to rescue Israel. This all happened three days ago.
22 “Then some women from our group of his followers were at his tomb early this morning, and they came back with an amazing report. 23 They said his body was missing, and they had seen angels who told them Jesus is alive! 24 Some of our men ran out to see, and sure enough, his body was gone, just as the women had said.”
This is a fact of history…Jesus rose from the dead, there was never any finding of Jesus’ body, in Acts the disciples are harassed because of their belief, but never is there a condemnation with proof against the resurrection….Jesus is who he said he was and over 500 men at one time saw him alive not including women and children. You find it so hard to believe all that the prophets wrote in the Scriptures. 26 Wasn’t it clearly predicted that the Messiah would have to suffer all these things before entering his glory?” 27 Then Jesus took them through the writings of Moses and all the prophets, explaining from all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.
Jesus was able to walk these men through hundreds of scriptures written hundreds or years before His birth, proving once again everything He said about himself was true….Here are just a few He may have used…
Genesis 3:15; Numbers 21:8-9; 24:17; Deuteronomy 18:15, 18; Isaiah 4:2; 7:14; 9:1-2, 6-7; Ezekiel 34:23-24; 37:24-25
Now the multi-dimensionality of God…
Luke 24:28-31
By this time they were nearing Emmaus and the end of their journey. Jesus acted as if he were going on, 29 but they begged him, “Stay the night with us, since it is getting late.” So he went home with them. 30 As they sat down to eat, he took the bread and blessed it. Then he broke it and gave it to them. 31 Suddenly, their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And at that moment he disappeared!
The spiritual realm is one of a dimension beyond ours….if these things, if UFOs are real then either they are some technology that has been hidden from us, but if they are not man made, I would suggest they are spiritual from a spiritual realm and this is not God’s way of communicating….he gave us His word and especially the book of revelation to know how things will go.
In Ezekiel chapter one we see how a physical manifestation of God’s presence coming from another dimension is able to move as the uFO’s are reported to move, beyond our present understanding of physics….The bible is silent about life on other planets, I am doubtful because of the uniqueness it took to create life on this planet…God can do anything but the challenge of the supposed alien life that has been supposedly contacting humans are violating everything God’s word says and who Jesus is!
Two last thoughts from scripture
Alien life would not be further advanced than we are as the planets were created after the earth not before….
Genesis 1:14-19
Then God said, “Let lights appear in the sky to separate the day from the night. Let them be signs to mark the seasons, days, and years. 15 Let these lights in the sky shine down on the earth.” And that is what happened. 16 God made two great lights—the larger one to govern the day, and the smaller one to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set these lights in the sky to light the earth, 18 to govern the day and night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.
19 And evening passed and morning came, marking the fourth day.
For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will reject the truth and chase after myths. 2 Timothy 4:3,4
