When we allow the world and world system to control us it is easy to lose sight of the plan Jesus has for us to have “life and have it abundantly” for this present life as well as the one to come. In other words, a real relationship with Jesus gives us that resurrection life now.

Jesus is being extreme in both cases because many wanted only the miracles they didn’t want the deep connection and relationship that ensures eternal life and a successful life in the Kingdom here on earth as well….you can not be light, life, salt if you are not completely connected and in intimate relationship with the one who is all of these things himself….the belief is a daily communion with him, daily living a life that is Jesus pouring through us…we are light, life, salt, hope, joy, love and all of these things because that is how he is and we are daily becoming one with Him.
Bread was a staple in the middle east as it is in the west today. Bread was used by God as a sign of life and supply. Today we will see the blessing and challenge of Jesus use of bread as a sign of real life. John 6 is the longest chapter in the book so let’s see if we can get through it today.
