Last week I talked about the blessing of peace in our lives, it is not dependent on things around us but on remember who God is and His promises toward us. It also depends on our choosing to believe God is always with us and always for us.
I had mentioned a couple of weeks ago a scripture I both love and hate…Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
I love it as an encouragement when I feel I have nothing to give or don’t have the gifts I need to accomplish something for the Lord…..I hate it because when the Lord asks me to do something I really don’t want to do, I no longer have an excuse to not do it, because I can do all things.
Allow me to start out today with this verse…WE MUST LEARN TO STAND ON GOD”S WORD THE PSALMIST WROTE HIS WORD IS A LAMP UNTO OUR FEET AND A LIGHT UNTO OUR PATH (Psalm 109:105)
Ephesians 3:20
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us
I want to encourage you today about God’s promises regarding meeting all of your needs often when we talk about these promises we are talking about finances and while I will touch on those today, we have many greater needs than simply financial. God wants to supply in exceeding abundance as we allow His power to work within us.
However, as I mentioned last week, we sometimes face battles
Most of us have to battle a mind-set of…we haven’t worked hard enough to be blessed, we aren’t good enough to deserve blessing, always waiting for the philosophical, other shoe to drop, it is easier to believe in the negative than the positive but in God’s mindset He is always looking for ways to bless us as we place ourselves in a position to be blessed.
God is more than able to supply all that we need in every way every day as we choose to trust him.
I want us to walk through this part of the blessing today.
Philippians 2:13
For it is [not your strength, but it is] God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure.
So many of us battle to find our purpose, to feel confident in what we should be doing but part of God’s supply for us is that as long as we are walking with the Lord, He is constantly strengthening, energizing, and creating in us the desire to fulfill God’s purpose to bless Him and us….we can stop worrying about am I doing God’s will. If you heart is to follow Him He will lead, guide and direct you, giving you all you need to fulfill your purpose and to bless God!
How cool is that….We cant say I’m not smart enough, talented enough, educated enough, rich enough, young enough, old enough to fulfill God’s purpose….right here, right now God is working in you to fulfill your purpose for today…that’s all you need
One of the traps we get into is believing there are so many people against us, the circumstances are so against me, my boss, doesn’t like me, there are always excuses the enemy wants to feed us but God won’t allow those who are against us in any way to stop us from accomplishing what we are called to do. He will bless us with favor even against our enemies.
Proverbs 16:7
When people’s lives please the LORD, even their enemies are at peace with them.
Nothing can stand in the way of a man or woman of God who is always seeking His heart. He will frustrate your enemies and even turn their hearts to bless you. Rather than you needing to fight, to feel overcome, to feel like the roadblocks are impossible, at the very least God can frustrate your enemies and move them out of the way, and at the best cause them to become your friend and bless you.
It is easy to look at your problems and the problem people in your life and see them as roadblocks. But if God has called you to do something, he will supply all you need to remove the people roadblocks. How that happens is depended on the heart of the person who is against you….but don’t limit God he will remove the obstacles because it blesses Him and you!
When we are designed to fulfill a purpose to honor the Lord. The devil will use whatever people he can to try to stop that purpose but God’s will is always accomplished when people choose to follow and trust Him.
We all know Heaven is coming and the glory in heaven is beyond our comprehension, Paul was there and said so but do we need to wait for heaven to see God pouring out into us in very special ways, however the Lord wants us to shine here on earth so people see we don’t have to worry and are at peace always….In proverbs the Lord promises this
Proverbs 10:22
The blessing of the LORD makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.
God is saying he wants to bless us in all ways and the gain you receive from trusting the Lord comes by righteously and honorably so there is no guilt or shame and it honors the Lord to bless you…while the implication here is physical wealth the Hebrew allows us to extend that wealth to mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
As you are in the word, prayer, fellowship with believers growing in him daily he will make you rich in ways that bring you peace, love, joy, grace, kindness, strength…Look at this verse Psalm 84:11
For the LORD God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The LORD will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.
If I were to ask you, what good things do you need in your life, what would you say they are?
Something for your kids? Your finances, health, peace of mind, time, dream fulfilled?
God’s plan of blessing is to supply all that you need to fulfill the dreams He has placed inside of you!
You see all of those gifts, talents and abilities I talk about all the time that you have been given, were perfectly designed for you to be blessed and fulfilled specifically for you. The enemy tries to get our eyes on what fulfills others, or that God doesn’t love us as He does others and won’t fulfill our dreams…The blessing of God all for all of us as we choose to live a life that is right….loving Him and loving others…loving him by getting to know Him better through His word, prayer and hanging out with people that love Him too….loving others but living a life of forgiveness, caring, gentleness, encouraging, and looking for ways to bless others to bring them closer to Jesus
God wants to bless you with supply, one of the most famous chapters in the Bible is all about this
Psalm 23: 1-6
The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need. 2 He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful streams. 3 He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths,
bringing honor to his name. 4 Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. 5 You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil.
My cup overflows with blessings. 6 Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever.
You may have never read this chapter this way but David is saying….
I have no needs; God is and has met them all so I can always be at rest and peace. He supplies all the strength wisdom, and guidance I need to make it through every day…. When I feel alone, empty, vulnerable, fearful, depressed, anxious, God protects my heart and mind and holds me closer, in those times, that I could ever imagine. He heals me and fills me new with His Holy Spirit when I feel drained and empty, so much so that I not only have enough supply for me but I can easily pour out onto others….oh the joy that comes from knowing every day I don’t have to worry about some kind of work to become righteous I know that every day, he is chasing me with His goodness, mercy, and love….the greatest supply of all is that I can live in His presence where there is fullness of joy always
Do you want this supply today…it is just there for you, freely….God wants you to have more than enough……Do you need any of these things today? I know we are not big on coming to the altar but ladies and gentlemen, God has a plan to bless you and meet every need, mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually if you will allow him….
It is not because of what you have done but because of who you are….I challenge you all the time to believe, “You are the one God loves the most” today I need you to believe in God’s blessings of supply for you today….it is not that He has to do it, it is because he simply wants to do it….because you are the one He loves the most!
I want to end today’s teaching, like last week’s with this prayer a combination of several scripture verses
Number 6:24 – 26; Deuteronomy 7:9
‘May the LORD bless you and protect you. 25 May the LORD smile on you and be gracious to you. 26 May the LORD show you his favor and give you his peace.’ Understand, therefore, that the LORD your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands.
